Pre- workout smoothies to have before training
Training to master the craft of boxing is an arduous task. It is one which requires your body to be at full strength, or you risk diluting the quality of your work out sessions. Seeing as you want improve as quickly as possible, then it is essential that you fuel your body correctly so that you can get the most out of your sessions. The best state for your body to be in prior to work outs, is to be fully nourished, but to have your stomach essentially empty. Smoothies are a great way to achieve this goal, as they are so easily absorbed, yet still light on the stomach.
Green Smoothie
Researchers have stated that inorganic nitrate aids in muscles using less oxygen, thus allowing muscles to perform better. These nutrients are found in spinach.
Recipe
2 cups spinach, frozen or fresh
2 cups almond milk
1 large apple, cored and cut
1 banana
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 spoon of honey
Sweet Spinach and Strawberry Smoothie
Strawberries are high in vitamin C, an antioxidant that fights disease. Useful in keeping the weakening of your immune system effective, after rigorous training. Essential for the champion that runs in the snow! Bananas are high in potassium , a great mineral for the prevention of minerals.
Recipe
2 cups of juice (cranberry or apple), or coconut milk
1/2 cup of vanilla yoghurt (including mango, or strawberry)
1 sliced banana
1 cup of sliced strawberries
2 cups of spinach, frozen or fresh
Berry and Mango Smoothie
The nature of intense workouts can be quite destructive as a result of oxidative damage to the muscles. The antioxidants in berries help maintain the health of your tissues.
Recipe
2 cups of cranberry Juice
3/4 blackberries
1/4 cup of blueberries –
1/2- 1 sliced mango
Cherry Yoghurt
Chocolate Almond Smoothie
Almond milk is a good source of protein, essential for muscle endurance and recovery. Hempseed is one of the strongest sources of protein, and is very easily digested. The acids of flaxseed help to keep anti-depressant levels high, essential for athletes that may stress from the rigorous routine of hard work. Cacao helps to maintain stable blood pressure and improve on cardiovascular health.
Recipe
1 sliced banana
2 cups of coconut milk, or almond milk
1/4 cup of almonds, or 2 tbsp raw almond butter
1 tbsp roasted carob powder, or cacao nibs
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tbsp hemp protein powder
Simple Apple and Banana Smoothie

2 carrots, sliced

It would be egotistic of you to claim aspirations as high as the most legendary of champions, yet assume that you can achieve it without focusing on every single aspect of your life and your training. If your dreams are more serious than your counterparts, and you want to be the best, your diet should too reflect this. Take care, extra care, with what you put in your body, because one day it may be what you rely on to earn you a million dollars and win you a million more hearts. The others will fail to do so, but this is why you’ll get an edge over them.
