I remember the early moments when I first decided that boxing was THE thing that I was going to pursue. I remember feeling free and limitless, knowing that I had found my purpose and passion. I remember diving into the sport, as much as I can by training and watching hundreds of YouTube videos to keep my passion alight. At that time, my desire was infinite. I wanted to be a champion so bad, I’m sure it was too much for my young heart!

But then I encountered a problem..

I noticed that the road wasn’t as easy as I thought.

Having desire alone wasn’t enough to ensure that I would one day become one of the greats. I worked hard, but it seemed as if the work I was putting in, wasn’t worth the results I was getting out. I felt as if I could’ve and should’ve progressed much faster.

I quickly realised one of the problems I had:

I didn’t have a mentor that I felt truly understood the reality of my dreams and expectations for myself.

I didn’t have an assisting guide or encouraging friend that I felt shared my great ambition, and could relate to me.

That’s one of the reasons I spent hours studying the greats. I wanted to learn from them. But even more than that, I needed their company. I knew they had at one point felt exactly the same as I felt.

Perhaps you’re the same.

Perhaps you want to be a champion, or you just want to dive into the sport that you love. In any case, I’m sure you would appreciate having a friend, a mentor, a guide, someone who can relate. Through that time spent trying to study boxing greatness, I’ve learnt a few things, and as I am still young, I will continue to do so.

I want to share with you what I learn, help you on any goals you have, and just be there for you!
